About IronMechs
The IronMechs this year are competing in both the High School and Middle School divisions. Our high school team, the IronMechs (99157A) currently has 4 members and our middle school team, the IronMechs 2.0 (99157B) has 5 members. Both teams meet at Abacus Robotics' STEM center located in Haymarket, VA.
IronMechs ( 99157A )Our first season together was 2018 with the "In The Zone" season. In that season, we won many awards including Excellence and Tournament champions. We got the Design Award in States, which qualified us for the World Championship. There, we won the Innovate Award. Our next season was Turning Point. We won the Design Award which qualified us for States that year. We qualified for Worlds that year through the online cad challenge. This season, we hope to qualify for Worlds for the 3rd time in a row. Our team consists of four people: Natale (9th grade), Chloe (9th grade), Kathline (9th grade), and Michael (8th grade). Natale is the strategizer, Chloe is the main scouter, Kathline is the main driver, Michael is the main documenter, and everyone builds.

IronMechs 2.0 ( 99157B )There are five people on our younger robotics team. They are Bobby (Grade 7), Piper (Grade 7), Joseph (Grade 7), Diego (Grade 7), and Audrey (Grade 5). Our team was established at the beginning of the 2018-2019 season starting with Piper, Joseph, and Diego. Bobby and Audrey joined at the beginning of the 2019-2020 season. We went to the State Championship in Doswell, Virginia in March 2019 where we ranked 19th for Skills out of 82 Virginia teams! We are proud of our accomplishment and plan to work hard and compete and win at the State and World level!
